INVITATION TO 3RD NAMIBIAN, ICELANDIC INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT 1-5 MAY 2008   |

The Namibian Chess Federation would like to invite you to the 3rd Namibian, Icelandic International Chess Tournament scheduled to take place from 1-5 May 2008 at the Thuringer Hof Hotel, Independence Avenue, Windhoek, Namibia.
Please register from Monday, 28 April 2008 to Wednesday, 30 April 2008 at the NCF Offices, Room 104, 1st Floor, Independence Avenue. For more details please visit the news section of our website. The programme and the regulations will be placed on our website by Monday and a copy can also be collected at the NCF Offices.
This event will also serve as a vehicle to hone the skills of our Olympic Teams, who will be participating in the Chess Olympics this year in Dresden, Germany from 12-25 November 2008.
The Tournament is sponsored by ICEIDA (Icelandic International Development Agency).

For the third year running, NAMSPORTS is sponsoring the annual Independence Blitz Chess Tournament to be hosted at the UN Plaza in Katutura.
Defending Champion Charles Eichab will have to fight tooth and nail to retain his title as a number of the country’s top players have made it clear it wouldn’t be a walk in the park.
The only tournament of its magnitude staged in Katutura, the tournament first took place at the Pick ‘n’ Pay Shopping Complex in 2006, before moving to Shoprite Shopping |

4TH SANLAM NAMIBIA NATIONAL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008   |
| Dear Chess Friends, Further to our e-mail dated 26 February 2008 you are reminded of the 4th Sanlam Namibia National Chess Championships 2008 which will commence next week Tuesday, 18 March 2008 at the Thuringer Hof Hotel.
Please note that the registration forms and tournament regulations can be downloaded from our website www.namibianchessfederation.com download section.
Members are also reminded to pay their annual membership fees by latest 31 March 2008.
Players interested to participate in the 4th Sanlam Namibia National Chess Championships 2008 should pay their membership fees when they register for the tournament.

| Dear Chess Friends, We had three recent stories on chess in Namibia and I promised you more details. Please check it out on our website:www.namibianchessfederation.com
1.Dr. Leonhard Mueller who decided to sponsor chess development;
2. Paul's Coffee Shop - Please visit Paul's Coffee Shop and support their efforts;
and 3.the largest amount sponsored to date by Bank Windhoek a local commercial bank. Bank Windhoek decided to sponsor N$60,000.00 for the development of chess in Namibia. 1000 customized chess sets was manufactured and will be distributed to 250 schools in all 13 regions of Namibia.
To the chessplayers can anyone of you beat Dr. Leonhard Mueller's donation. I will. if you dare give us a call.

Invitation to participate in Sanlam Namibia National Chess Champiomships 2008   |
| Dear Chess Friend,
The Namibia Chess Federation would like to invite you to participate in the Sanlam Namibia National Chess Championships 2008, which will be held from 18 March 2008-23 March 2008 at the Thuringer Hof Hotel.
Please register at the NCF offices, BPI House, Room 104, 1st Floor, Independence Avenue. Unfortunately, only Namibian citizens are eligible to participate. The Olympic teams, men(4) and women (5) will be selected from this event.
Registration fees for members will be as follows: N$100.00 for Adults; N$50.00 for Students and N$30.00 for Scholars. A refundable deposit of N$50.00 is payable at registration. Registrations close on 14 March 2008.
Penalty of N$100.00 for late registration.
Registration for Non-Members will be N$200.00.

Arbiters Course: 1-8 September 2007   |

The Namibia Chess Federation would like to encourage all members in good standing to register for the Arbiters Course. The course will be facilitated by Mr. Werner Stubenvoll at the Safari Court Hotel, Gamberg Room,from 1-8 September 2007. Please note that the places are limited.
