| Willie hails from Otjiwarongo and participated in the 37th Chess Olympics May 2006 in Turin,Italy, where he draw against and International Chess Master, his best result against such a strong opponent. He won the Standard Bank Namibia National Junior Chess Championships in September 2006, the first tournament victory for the young lad. This was his finest moment and was celebrated duly. Willie has a bright future in chess and could easily become the National Champion with a little bit of hard work. |

Eichab is one of the foremost chess players in Namibia. In recent years he has won more tournament and championships then any other player in the country. He has the highest local rating at 2165 elo-points. Mr. Eichab has represented Namibia countless times at the international stage and has played at Board 1 for two subsequent Chess Olympics (Mallorca, SPAIN; Turin, ITALY). He has also traveled the length and breath of Namibia teaching chess even at the most remote schools and places of the country.
Mr. Eichab in the picture is also the official talent scout for the Chessco Academy and Scholarship Scheme based in Johannesburg.
